Know the source of love
From before the foundation of the earth, God knew you, loved you, wanted you and chose you. You were destined for adoption as God’s very own daughter, as God’s very own son. And it was according to the good pleasure of His will.
When you believe and receive this truth, it’s God who gives you power to become a child of God. God makes you what He created you to be and do. God does the gifting. God gives you the power to become a son or a daughter of God.
No longer born of your earthly mother and father, but born anew of God. This makes you royalty in a heavenly kingdom… a more real reality than any “reality” TV you will ever see.
Your first birth was of your earthy mother and father. This birth (as precious as it could be) gave you a body and soul (mind, will, and emotions). But this birth was programmed with the old seed of self-righteousness inherited from Adam and Eve.
It’s why Jesus himself said, “Do not be astonished that I say, ‘you must be born again’”. You get to be reborn of God this time. Jesus explains how it happens: “No one will see or enter the Kingdom without being born of the water and born of the spirit.”
You can believe and receive the greater gift of new birth through water and Spirit (baptism). When you believe God wants to give you this gift—when your FAITH jumps up to say YES to this free gift—God’s tremendous and powerful grace comes upon you!
With His grace comes the free gift of God’s robe of His righteousness. It gives you the power and desire to put down your old life, thoughts and desires. This means putting down your old earthly identity, your old earthly self-righteous feelings… (click to learn more)
When you believe in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ (and your baptism into Him, where the old you spiritually dies with Jesus), you are no longer a slave to self-righteousness! You get to put on your new life which is enslaved to His selfless righteousness.
You’re given to a new Master… who lives by a new Way… that you can follow.
This is why you cannot serve two different masters! You become a child of God like your new Master Jesus, The Son of God. Because with your new life, “As He is, so are you in this world” (1 John 4:17) Jesus is perfectly selfless! He showed the world this true nature by dying on a cross.
It’s why St. Paul asked the rhetorical question “How can you who died to sin go on living in it?”. You are born again of God—and HIS SEED cannot sin! (Read more here…)
You have a new Father. Jesus revealed His name “Abba”. In the Aramaic language Jesus spoke it basically means “Papa-Daddy-God”. Jesus reveals God as a good, patient, loving, invested Dad.
You have new DNA with Jesus’ blood-type, grafted into a new vine. You are adopted (specially chosen) for a new family, the family of God. You are a new creation. Jesus confirms this by declaring, “SEE, I make all things NEW!” (Read more here…)
When you believe and understand this, you’ll enter into this brand-new life and new identity with brand-new DNA as a brand-new creation. Your heart will have a single focus. No longer tossed into fear and confusion by life’s challenges and earth’s questions… driven by self-righteousness.
You won’t be stuck in a worldly mindset thinking with the language of hell. You won’t hold tight to this world. You’ll let go of earthly things: your earthly status, position, wealth, appearance, reputation.
You won’t be driven by the need for earthly comparisons, earthly measurements, earthly accolades, earthly success. And your children will see this. This will be their new heavenly example.
You’ll understand what Jesus meant by saying your eye will become “single”. Your single focus will be to help other lost sons and daughters (including your earthly children) walk out of the old and into the new. Leading new sons and daughters of God into the fullness of this brand-new reality.
